First
of all, I am going to focus this post at the begining of the classes,
when we hace just started, Mina give us two types of text to
work with, de had to read both and then share what we had found and
if we had seen the differences between both text.
So,
I have realiced that text number one is focused on the character of
the learned rather than the contents of learning, and in my opinion,
knowledge is so important for children, because they go to the school
to learn about the customs and culture, but there is another part so
important which is teaching through intellectual character, so that
is to transmit to the student curiosity, how to be open minded,
skeptical, truth-seeking and then the student by himself, could happy
these dispositions in other situations of his life, apart from
school. This will hello him to in a future be more independent and
know how to make decisions by himself in a easier way.
We
have to transmit to the children ethical and moral values of
education, to buil an ethical society. That is a point of view that I
have not seen before or I have not realized at all until I have read
this text.
Comparing
text number one with text number two, I see that text number two show
us an historical view of education, how it have been changing over
time. The other difference that has caught my attention is the idea
of education that there was before, I mean the idea of educate
children to be future citizens and workers. In my opinion, nowadays
this kind of way is thinking exist, because in the majority of the
schools, teachers focus on the curriculum and that is all, they are
building a society of future workers where it does not matter other
types is values, they only look for buil efficient workers to improve
the economy of a country and by this way be more competitive, etc.
That is a truth, but there are so much to transmit apart from that,
and teachers from today have to teach their children to be people
with courage, initiative, loyalty, perseverance...all the tools that
they will need in the future to develop themselves and to deal with
the obstacles that they will might find in their ways. That is the
base of an exemplary society, and it is in our hands.
Heal
the world.
